Dance Party Reunion: A Salute to Buddy Holly and Friends

DANCE PARTY REUNION is a ‘re-staging’ of Buddy Holly’s 1959 WINTER DANCE PARTY, featuring music of Buddy’s co-stars, Ritchie Valens (“La Bamba”, performed by Allen Malicsi); Dion & the Belmonts (with Brian Pekol, singing “Teenager in Love”), The Big Bopper (“Chantilly Lace”, featuring Zach Spicer) and Frankie Sardo (“Fake Out”, featuring a local singer!).

A STELLAR TRIBUTE to the music of American rock and roll icon Buddy Holly , featuring original cast members (Nicholas Freeman, Blake Foster and Zach Spicer) from History Theatre’s IVEY-award-winning production of Buddy! The Buddy Holly Story. Endorsed by Sonny Curtis and Jerry Allison of The Crickets! Hosted by Mr. Charles Fraser! Music direction by Gary Rue, produced by Gary Rue.

If you purchased tickets for the 2020 performance, they will be valid for this new date. Your replacement tickets will be mailed to you. We have already sold enough tickets to this show for 50% capacity seating. If we are able to open up the Chautauqua Center to full capacity we will then sell the remaining tickets.

The five-time Parent’s choice Award winners perform family music with a goal to inspire children and their parents to get outside and get creative. Their captivating songs while canoeing down the Mississippi River, hiking the Appalachian Trail, riding horses in the Rocky Mountains, and having fun in the snow, motivate kids to gain a greater respect for the natural world, their communities and themselves.

Joe and Justin record and perform family music with a goal to inspire children and their parents to step outside and get creative. 2020-2021 Season

We regret to announce that the Wildwood Artist Series has decided to cancel its 2020-2021 series.

We hope to present two events in the spring of 2021 – Dance Party Reunion: A Salute to Buddy Holly and Friends on March 21st, and The Okee Dokee Brothers on May 15th. Tickets to these events may be purchased by going to our website ( www.wildwoodartistseries.com) beginning January 1st, 2021. We will give you further updates for these concerts in mid to late December. The Wildwood Artist Series 30th Anniversary season will be held in 2021-2022 and we look forward to your continued support and attendance.

Recap: Monroe Crossing

Last month Monroe Crossing graced our Chautauqua stage bringing catchy tunes and audience requests to life. This first performance of our 2016-2017 season was a definite crowd pleaser!

From the very beginning of the show, Monroe Crossing’s witty banter, and cheerful nature was infectious. The audience could feel that all of the group’s five members truly care for and admire each other.

It was easy to see and hear that all of the members of the band are multitalented. Often, members could be seen switching instruments between songs and taking turns singing in front of the single microphone. With all the members singing into one microphone, the audience heard a melding of all of the voices and could clearly see how close all the musicians are.Read more“Recap: Monroe Crossing”
